Waiting for 5pm for the debate to start.
I have always loved sport. I have always wanted to talk about it, debate it, argue about it, celebrate it and, most importantly, experience it.
I used to sit waiting for 5pm UK time for the latest First Take and Undisputed clips to appear on YouTube. I would watch the debates, listen to the arguments and often find myself disagreeing with what was being said, already forming my own opinion before I had even finished watching.
And that is when I realised something.
I wanted my own voice.
Not necessarily to tell people what to think, but to tell them what I saw.
Sport is not experienced the same way by everyone.
A brilliant tactical decision. An unbelievable individual performance.
The moment the game changed. Something everyone else completely missed.
That is what FME, From My Eyes, means to me. It is my perspective on sport. But it is also an invitation for you to have yours.
Sport is meant to be talked about.
Debated. Shared. Celebrated. It is the emotion of a last-minute winner. The argument after a controversial decision. The player nobody expected to perform. The moments that stay with you long after the final whistle.
And maybe that is why sport means so much to so many people. For a few hours, it gives us somewhere else to be. It lets us forget about work, stress, problems and the real world, and just fall in love with the game.
A place where people come because they love sport. A place where opinions can be challenged, conversations can start and different perspectives can exist side by side.
I do not want FME to simply tell you what happened. I want it to make you feel something about it.
And hopefully, one day, when someone sits down at their computer and thinks about sport, FME is one of the first places they go.
